Midea signed a strategic cooperation agreement with NIO

On April 10, Midea Group and NIO held a grand signing ceremony of a strategic cooperation agreement at Midea's Welling auto parts manufacturing base in Anqing. This cooperation marks the in-depth cooperation between the two parties in multiple strategic areas such as the research and development of key components of new energy vehicles, automation technology, digital transformation, low-carbon and sustainable development, and smart logistics.

On the same day, a new generation of 900V round wire stator products launched by Midea Welling Auto Parts was officially put into production.

According to the signed agreement, Midea and NIO will jointly work on in-depth cooperation in the field of auto parts and new technology research and development, including key products such as air conditioning compressors, electric drive systems, thermal management integrated solutions, and on-board refrigeration equipment。

In terms of industrial automation, the cooperation between the two parties will be extended to industrial robots, automotive and general industrial automation solutions, motion control systems, digital management systems and smart logistics, so as to promote the joint progress of both parties in the field of intelligent manufacturing and intelligent transportation.

As the strategic deployment of Midea Group in the field of intelligent transportation, Midea Welling Auto Parts has successfully laid out three key incremental components of new energy vehicles, such as thermal management, electric drive and chassis execution system, and its products cover electric compressors, thermal management integrated modules, drive motors, electronic power steering motors, electronic oil pumps, electronic water pumps, electronic expansion valves, solenoid valves, etc.

In 2023, its shipments reached 750,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 400%. Among them, automotive electric compressor products have been widely used in the full range of models of many mainstream automobile manufacturers, and have obtained the first customer fixed-point cooperation project of thermal management integrated module.

The new generation of 900V round wire stator that has rolled off the production line this time will further improve the product lineage of Midea's Welling electric drive field.
